Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., a midsized shipbuilder, said Monday it has received a 208 billion won (US$185 million) order to build six petrochemicals carriers.

Under the deal with an unidentified customer, Hyundai Mipo will deliver the 25,000-ton vessels by the end of January, 2021, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Hyundai Mipo is an affiliate of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., the world's biggest shipbuilder by orders.

So far this year, Hyundai Heavy Industries and its affiliates have won deals valued at $13.7 billion to build a total of 161 ships, surpassing the annual order target of $13.2 billion. (yonhap)
