Defense ministry official says:

The Republic of Korea (south), North Korea and the United Nations Command will be in trilateral consultations on Oct. 16, 2018 to disarm the Joint Security Area (JSA) at the truce village of Panmunjom, the heavily fortified border area between the ROK and NK, the Defense Ministry of the ROK announced recently.

The meeting is to open at Panmunjom inside the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) at 10 a.m., the Ministry stated.

South and North Korea agreed to disarm the JSA under the military agreement, which was signed by their countries' defense chiefs during the Pyongyang summit in September between President Moon Jae-in and the North's leader Kim Jong-un.

The UNC has jurisdiction over the JSA. (Yonhap)
