Millennium Seoul Hilton’s Café 395 will offer a special promotion of Danish cuisine from May 25th to the 31st. During this time, Café 395’s already bountiful international buffet will include a special section featuring Danish foods. Some select items will also be available for purchase as takeaway items (including house smoked salmon, eel, halibut, mackerel and herring).
The buffet will include traditional Scandinavian breads such as rye, knækbrød, hard and soft rolls, accompanied by rich butter or pork fat. A wide selection of herring (marinated, spicy, tomato, dill, curry, fried), salmon (smoked, grav lax, beetroot salmon, lemon salmon), and smoked fish (mackerel, eel, Greenland halibut, herring) will be offered, along with the proper accompaniments for the quintessential Danish gourmet experience.
There will also be cold water prawns, boiled crayfish, and an assortment of Danish homemade cold cuts and salads. A variety of Danish open sandwiches, known as smørrebrød will be prepared at an action station. These sandwiches are a national speciality and are prepared and decorated with a variety of the finest ingredients.
Hot dishes will include: pork roast with crackling at the carvery; chicken Danoise; Danish sausage; Danish-style pork belly with parsley cream sauce; warm liver pate with mushroom and bacon; oven-steamed cod in foil; Danish-style meatballs and cabbage rolls; and much more.
A proper feast would not be complete without dessert, and various Danish sweets will be offered including: Danish apple and marzipan cake; red fruit dessert; rice pudding; lemon mousse; town hall pancakes filled with pastry cream, apricot jam and almonds; and apple dumplings.
