At the Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul on March 17
The Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Seoul celebrated the 104th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day 2024 on March 17, 2024 with due fervor and festivity.
Members of the Bangladesh community in Seoul and the Embassy officials along with their children took part in the programme with great enthusiasm.
The day’s programme commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by H.E. Mr. Delwar Hossain, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea, with the national anthem in the morning at the Embassy.
The Embassy organized discussion programme in the afternoon. H.E. Mr. Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, MP, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, attended the programme as the chief guest.
The Hon’ble Minister in presence of the expatriate Bangladeshis and the Embassy officials paid homage to the Father of the Nation by placing floral wreaths in front of his bust inside the Chancery. Special prayer was offered seeking salvation of the departed soul of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and for the continued peace and prosperity of the nation.
The Embassy officials read out the messages of the Hon’ble President, the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the Hon’ble Foreign Minister. A documentary on the life of the Father of the Nation was screened. It was followed by a discussion programme.
In his remark, Ambassador Delwar Hossain paid deep tribute to the memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and recalled with deep reverence his glorious role to the independence of Bangladesh. He called all to inculcate ideals and principles of the Father of the Nation in the children for building an ideal nation.
Hon’ble Minister, in his remarks, paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Highlighting the glorious life of the Father of the Nation, the Hon’ble Minister called upon the expatriate Bangladeshis to devote themselves to fulfilling the dream of building ‘Sonar Bangla’ envisioned by the Father of the Nation.
The Embassy organized art competition for the children. Hon’ble Minister gave away prizes to the children and cut a cake with the participating cheerful children to celebrate this occasion. This was followed by cultural performances by the children.
