Consultations to be focused on how to promote substantiative cooperation
President Moon to attend Korea-Japan-China Summit in China on Dec. 23-24
According to Cheongwadae, President Moon Jae-in will visit China December 23-24 to attend the 8th Korea-Japan-China summit. This year’s trilateral summit will be held on December 24 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
At the summit, President Moon, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will have consultations focused on how to promote substantive cooperation among the three countries. They are also expected to have in-depth discussions about recent developments in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.
At the same time, President Moon will explain the current situation on the Korean Peninsula and engage in discussions on measures through which the three nations could work together for complete denuclearization and permanent peace on the Peninsula.
The upcoming summit, which marks the 20th anniversary of the trilateral cooperation mechanism among Korea, Japan and China, is anticipated to serve as a useful venue to take stock of what has been achieved through trilateral cooperation over the past two decades and discuss the direction of future development.
Moreover, at the summit, the leaders are expected to have constructive discussions to reinforce the institutionalization of trilateral cooperation and expand substantive cooperation in fields that will produce tangible results for the peoples of the three countries.
