Says Vietnamese residents in S.Korea

The 9th Vietnamese Cultural Festival, marking the 74th anniversary of the August 8 Revolutionary Movement (cách mạng tháng 8) and September 2 Vietnam Independence Day was conducted in the middle of Gwanghwamun square, right in front of the statue of King Sejong, on Sept. 3, 2019.

The festival is a grand celebration that represents the 200,000 Vietnamese residents in Korea.

15,000 people filled the Festival drawing much curiosity from the locals as well as the tourists within the Gwanghwamun square.

More than 15,000 participants were cheering together in the middle of Gwanghwamun square, right in front of the statue of King Sejong.

The event was attended by many officials and sponsors, including Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tu of Vietnam, Mr. Dinh Tien Hien, Investment Counselor to Vietnam Embassy in Korea, Chairman Choong-Heon Jeon of the Korea-Vietnam Content Association, and President Kim Soon-Ha of Future Automation Systems.

"The Vietnamese Fellowship Cultural Festival is not only interested in Vietnamese staying in Korea, but also Vietnamese people living all over the world," said Chairman Nguyen Okgam Lee of the Vietnamese Association for Korean Society.

He then added, "This makes it possible to show how much Vietnam has developed. This is an opportunity for workers, students and multicultural families to interact with each other. I would also like to thank the famous Vietnamese singer Ho QUANG HIEU, MAC VAN KHOA and other celebrities and sponsors of the event. ”

The celebratory performance by Vietnamese was presented during the festival at the main stage.

Chairman Jeon Chung-heon of the Korea-Vietnam Contents Association said, “The Korea-Vietnam Contents Association is the sponsor of the event. I hope to see more of the magnificent shows that had been conducted here today in the near future; magic shows with stories of prejudice and discrimination, the beautiful Ao Dai fashion show and children drawing competition. "

Vietnamese residents in Korea introduced Vietnam's various cultures, showing traditional food, Vietnamese rice noodles, Vietnamese coffee, and Vietnamese traditional costume 'Ao Dai'.

With a growing need for close ties between Korea and Vietnam, such an event is an essential part of joint collaboration for further development on their relationship.
